Even Vegans Can Now Say “Cheese”
stored in: GreenAcres Market, Shop

Have you tried GreenAcres new Dayia Cheese Wedges? They’re  in our dairy case now. Big surprise—they are actually dairy free. In fact, Dayia products are just about free of everything: casein, whey and lactose; soy, gluten, eggs, rice, peanuts and tree nuts (except coconut oil). There’s not a chance of cross contamination in the Dayia production facility which makes everything 100% vegan. So what does the product taste like?

“I think Dayia wedges are the perfect substitute for cheese when I’ve just got to have a slice of pizza,” says GreenAcres customer Jane Haase. “I may be Vegan, but sometimes, I just want that taste!”

The biggest selling point is the that wedges taste good on their own, without melting or cooking. This has been a big problem in other vegan-type cheeses. They just don’t taste like cheese. The aficionado is not going to be enamored, but to the Vegan who has been bereft of cheese for years, Dayia can fill the void. Customers say it tastes a little like Velveeta—and what vegan wouldn’t want to whip up a big batch of crockpot queso?

The wedges come in three flavors: Havarti, Cheddar, and Jack. The handy, resealable container makes the product easy to handle. The wedges hold up to slicing with a knife and even with a cheese slicer (do they still make those?)  But, we want to know what you think. So far, customers are voting for the Havarti, but anyway you slice it, Dayia is a huge game changer for vegans and those allergic to just about anything dairy. Pass the hors d’oeuvre tray this way. We’ve gotta have our cheese!
