|
Everything about Piropos says romance, including the name itself. A “piropo” is a flirtatious, clever compliment, usually delivered to a woman by her suitor. But don’t worry if you haven’t mastered this skill with quite the finesses of an Argentinean. Take your date to Piropos restaurant, and they’ll be glad to give you a few pointers.
It starts with the inspiring view of the city skyline and the sophisticated Argentine fusion cuisine. Because the owners love to create a romantic experience for their guests, they’ll include a small box of miniature roses for your table when you book your Valentine’s Day dinner. (The roses are a creation of Shana Vaughn Designs, right here in Briarcliff.)
And then, of course, there’s the food. Fish, steak, seafood, empanadas … the cuisine of Buenos Aires, with all its European influences. Piropos will offer a prix fixe menu for Valentine’s Day, so be sure to ask when making your reservations.
Oh, and if you’d like to brush up on your “piropo” skills, check out and “like” Piropos’ Facebook page. Each week they post a new sentiment you can share with your sweetheart. However, we recommend not using them all in one night. The secret to romance is subtlety–and besides, you’ll want to save a few for later.
