Warm Up With Eclektica This Season

Eclektica salon will feature a hot cocoa bar during the event on Sunday, Nov. 18, for families who want to break from the brisk air and enjoy a little treat. The salon will be giving away complimentary cocoa with a variety of toppings, as well as a warm and cozy place to hang out and wait for the laser show to begin.

In addition, your kids will love the entertainment provided by magician Todd Lamanske. Combining magic tricks with comedy and family-centered fun, Todd will perform at the salon on Sunday from 6:45-7:45 p.m.

Then after the lighting, the holidays really begin. And Eclektica is turning up the heat with a huge gift for one lucky winner. Register to win a Kindle Fire 2 between now and Dec. 31, when you purchase 2 or more L’Oreal Professional hair products from the salon. Cutting Hair, Cutting Price

Summer highlights have faded. Color’s bleached by sun and chlorine. And that cute, breezy haircut you got in June? Well, it’s drooping like the leaves on the trees. If any of this sounds familiar, you may be suffering from September Hair. The remedy? A trip to Eclektica Salon for a glorious new fall look. Stat.

Here’s the good news. If you’ve overspent your budget sending kids to camp or taking a family vacation, Eclektica is offering special discounts this month for both men and women. And if your schedule has suddenly gotten busier with after-school sports and cheerleading practice, Eclektica’s got an answer to that, too. Come in during the week, maybe on your lunch break, and take some much-needed time for yourself. After all, as the weather gets colder, it’s important to look your best to feel your best.

Ladies Who Lunch offers $10 off your choice of a cut/style or color/highlight. It’s good anytime before 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, so take that break from the office or the kids, and take advantage of extra savings. This discount is good only with a Level 1 stylist, so ask before making your appointment. (Generally, Level 1 means stylists who are newer to the salon, and therefore their rates are also lower.)

Men’s Express Cuts are $10 off Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. We know guys usually view haircuts as a chore, but an extra $1o off is something he’ll be happy about. This discount is good with a Level 1 or Level 2 stylist. So again, the special needs to be requested at the time of booking the appointment.

We hope to see every guy and gal in Kansas City looking spiffed up for fall by October. A new look for a new season. Eliminating September Hair, one appointment at a time.

Eclektica Expands Staff and Style

Eclektica Salon–so named for its international approach to hair–is growing both in numbers and diversity. The fashion-forward salon has added a new stylist to the books, with two more on the way this fall. In keeping with Eclektica’s cosmopolitan philosophy, the newest member of the team speaks multiple languages and has lived on two continents. She also possesses an innate sense of style that transcends cultural borders.

Fernanda Whittmer, associate stylist, was born and raised in Peru. After moving to Kansas City for her husband’s medical career–and giving birth to their son–she decided to follow her own passion and become a licensed cosmetologist. She began working in the business about a year ago, honing her skills with cut, color and highlighting. As an associate stylist, she is currently working under the direction of Eclektica’s owner, Carolina Coleman, an expert in trend and technique.

In a matter of weeks, Fernanda will be accepting her own clients–a perfect opportunity to refer your friends and pick up that 20% discount for them and you. Fernanda is bilingual in Spanish and English, so if Spanish is your first language, she might be a great fit. Celebrity Stylist Carlo Novoa is bringing a few red carpet tips to the team at Eclektica Salon. Carlo, whom you may recognize from his segments on the Style Network, has over 20 years of experience as a master colorist, stylist and salon owner for the entertainment industry. Now, his cutting edge styles seen throughout Hollywood on award shows, movie premiers and on music videos, will make their way to Briarcliff Village.

The staff at Eclektica are very excited about the upcoming master class with Carlo on Sunday, April 29. And we’re even more thrilled to pass along the latest hair trends and techniques to our clients!

Carolina Coleman has studied hair around the world: in Spain, Italy, Cuba and her native Mexico. In 2006, she opened Eclektica, the Salon at Briarcliff, giving Kansas City clients a sophisticated destination for style.
